Our Leadership

Moriaso Nabaala

Principal

I currently work as the Principal of the Wildlife Tourism College of Maasai Mara. I oversee the day to day running of the academic programs of the College as well implementation of the policies and strategic direction of the College as envisioned in the College Plan.

In all, I have more than 20 years of experience of work in the Mara across areas of community development, species ecology, reserve management issues and sustainable tourism. I have done research on large browsing ungulates as well as in conservation planning and in setting up of sustainable tourism programs in the Maasai Mara ecosystem that include
responsible nature guiding.

I have 15 years of teaching experience concentration areas being wildlife based tourism and the social aspects of protected area use, conservation and management. My research interests include community based conservation, modeling visitor use of parks and protected areas and local community interactions.

I’m  married with five children who all attend school in Narok. I am a member of Lemek conservancy within the Mara.

Geoffrey Bob Ouma

GM Operations

As the GM in charge of operations at WTC, I am responsible for day to day running of the college, including operations, finances, sales, and guest relations. I am a seasoned hospitality professional with over 12 years of experience at senior level management  in hotels, camps, and lodges within East Africa.  I have worked for multiple tourism operators in various parks, reserves, and conservancies from the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Serengeti, and most recently Samburu National reserve. I am passionate about tourism and the hospitality industry with particular interests in the development of the next generation of hospitality leaders through training, mentorship, and role modelling.

Nancy Imbahale

Human Resource

I am a dynamic and performance focused Human Resource Professional with over 8 years of experience in HR and administrative functions. My on-the-job experience has afforded me a well-rounded skill set, including first-rate decision-making and organizational abilities, people operations, engagement & capacity building; HRIS and change management.I have a Bachelor’s
degree in Commerce & Business Administration, a Masters in Human Resource Management and CHRP(K) Certification.

Alice Letoluo

Finance

I am a Certified Public Accountant and a full member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (ICPAK). My professional experience spans more than eight years. The skills, experience and the passion I have working within my locality drew me to WTC to exercise those skills in a more diverse environment and being a role model to the girl child out there that it is still possible to gain the skills needed and take up leadership role at the local and international levels.

Peterson Kariuki Njeru

Instructor

Njeru has been a leading tourism instructor at the college for the past 12 years. He completed his undergraduate degree in Tour and Travel Operations Management at Moi University and has several additional certifications, including from the Field Guides Association of Southern Africa. He feels that the WTC provides him the perfect platform to fulfill his passion for youth and environmental sustainability.

Michael Kimani Kahiga,

Instructor

Kahiga’s diverse career spans over 40 years and includes training at the Kenya Military Academy, working with the Kenya Civil Service, and teaching at the Kenya Wildlife Service Training Institute. He has been a lead instructor at the college since 2005. An avid reader he aspires to author children’s book about nature and wildlife.

Leperes William Leshan

Accountant

Leshan graduated from the University of Nairobi with specializations in finance and commerce, he went on to complete a certificate a Bomet Business College. Prior to joining the college in 2020, he was the Procurement Coordinator at W.E. International organization that works with local Mara families to achieve systemic change.

Lucy Otinga

Hospitality Instructor

A dedicated and passionate Hospitality instructor with over 5 yrs experience in the field ,Committed to fostering the growth and development of future hospitality professionals. Adept at creating, engaging and informative learning experiences that equip students with knowledge and skills necessary for success in the dynamic world of hospitality.

Janet Kemuma

French & ICT Instructor

She is a seasoned educator with a focus on the French language and Information and Communication Technology (ICT). Armed with a robust academic foundation and seven years of experience, she’s dedicated to equipping her students with language proficiency as well as vital tech skills for today’s interconnected world.

David Morompi

Hospitality Instructor

As a dedicated lecturer, I bring a vibrant passion for knowledge and an engaging, interactive approach to the academic community. My teaching style goes beyond traditional methods, prioritizing critical thinking, real-world applications, and a rich integration of culture and sports to make learning both relevant and inspiring.

With a Bachelor’s in Tourism & Hospitality, I am deeply committed to empowering young learners, combining theoretical insights with practical knowledge to prepare them for the complexities of a rapidly changing world. My keen interest in cultural studies and global societal trends informs my teaching and research, creating a holistic approach that resonates with students. This dedication positions me as both a trusted mentor and an influential voice within the academic community.

Justus Kapeen

Mathematics & Business Instructor

I specialized in asset financing, working for a leading financial institution. My expertise in this field allowed me to excel and I played a crucial role in facilitating asset acquisitions for various businesses. My passion for economics and business Calculation I desire to share my knowledge with others led me to a career in academia. I transitioned from the corporate world to become an instructor at WTC to teach and supervise students, identifying areas of improvement and opportunities and submitting timely reports to management.

Lekakeny Kiparus

Repair and Maintenance Department

I am in charge of Repairs & Maintenance department where I supervise and coordinate activities within the department. I am also a skilled Driver; I double my role as a Driver at WTC.I am passionate about community

Patiat Njapit

Security Team Leader

I oversee and coordinate work processes within the security department to ensure that the people on the premises are safe and the property within the college is well safe guarded. I have a team of six staff members who I work with closely to ensure operations run smoothly.

My journey from a graduate in numeracy and statistics to a seasoned tour guide and wildlife monitor reflects a unique blend of analytical acumen and a deep passion for nature .My story is one of continuous growth and adaptation ,where my education and on field experiences have shaped me into a versatile professional contributing to the world of wildlife tourism and conservation in the iconic maasai mara.
